2Pac Brenda’s Got a Baby for Throwback Thursday

2Pac Brenda’s Got a Baby for Throwback Thursday

We are officially in February as the year 2026 is speeding along. Super Bowl LX takes place this weekend as the Seattle Seahawks takes on the New England Patriots. My featured Throwback Thursday joint this week is from 2Pac and his classic Brenda’s Got a Baby. Brenda’s Got a Baby was the second single from his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now. Brenda’s Got a Baby is one of 2Pac’s biggest records ever. There was a discussion last year about the track because the baby that’s referenced in the song was found. Jeff Pearlman has written a biography found the child and mother and reunited them last year. My playlist this week consisted of the Control album from Janet Jackson and the new DaBaby album. The new Mobb Deep, Kilo Ali Organized Bass, and B.G.’s Life After Cash Money were also played. J. Cole new album is supposed to drop tomorrow.

Speaking of the Control album from Janet Jackson, yesterday was its 40th anniversary of its release. There were a lot of events happening during the past week throughout the world. The WWE had their Royal Rumble this past weekend. Roman Reigns won the Men’s match and Liv Morgan was victorious for the women. The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday as mentioned earlier. Speaking of the NFL, they are now partial owners of ESPN. The deal was approved by Government Regulators a few days ago. In NBA news, Paul George was suspended for 25 games for violating NBA’s anti-drug policy. The NBA trade deadline will end later today. As of this writing, which is early Wednesday morning, the biggest trade took place yesterday. James Harden was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to Cleveland for Darius Garland. I’m sure there will be more deals before the deadline.

In a bit of sad news, we lost two iconic entertainers last week. Catherine O’Hara, who’s known for her role in Home Alone passed away at the age of 71. Macaulay Culkin still referred to her as mom all these years after the iconic movie. Demond Wilson, who’s known as Lamont on the iconic Sanford & Son passed away last Friday. He was 79 years old and I’m thinking he was the last survivor from the Sanford & Son show. Going back to my Throwback Thursday, check out the track listing and stream link to the 2Pacalypse Now album.
