Jay-Z has been called by many the greatest rapper of all time. Billboard crowned him as the best rapper of all time on their controversial list. For the past several years, many people have taken shots at Jigga for various reasons. Jay-Z has stayed quiet for the most part by ignoring it and continues to live his life. About a month ago, it was announced that Jay-Z is performing a massive three-night stand at Yankee Stadium. The concerts are to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of the Blueprint album. On Friday, July 10th, the concert will be a celebration of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt’s 30th anniversary. The following night, he’ll celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Blueprint album. An additional night has been added due to overwhelming demand following the sellout of the first two dates.
Jay-Z made headlines over the weekend by participating in The Roots Picnic 2026 in Philadelphia. Jay-Z shots were shots at Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, and Dame Dash. All four of them have taken shots at Jay-Z countless times over the years. For my featured throwback track, we will take it back to his Blueprint album and the final single. Song Cry was the fourth and final single from The Blueprint album, which went triple platinum. Song Cry was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Male Rap Solo Performance but lost to “Hot in Herre” by Nelly. Song Cry is my featured Throwback Thursday track of the week. The Blueprint has been called one of hip hop’s greatest albums of the 2000s. Check out the video for Song Cry above. Below you can see the track listing and stream link for the Blueprint album.
