Jagged Edge is an R&B group from Atlanta that put out their first album in 1997. A Jagged Era was the name of their debut album, and it eventually went gold. A little less than two years later, Jagged Edge would drop their second album called J.E. Heartbreak. J.E. Heartbreak made them into superstars seeing the album went double platinum. He Can’t Love U was their first big single and it was the second single from the album. He Can’t Love U went gold and reached the top 5 on the Billboard Charts. Let’s Get Married and Promise was their final two singles. Let’s Get Married had a remix featured Run of the legendary group, Run DMC. Promise was also accompanied with a remix with Loon of Bad Boy Records. Less than two years later, Jagged Edge dropped their third album, Jagged Little Thrill.
Jagged Little Thrill was their third album and they just celebrated its 25th anniversary of the release. Jagged Little Thrill eventually reached Platinum status in the United States and sold more than 1.5 million copies domestically. The album produced three singles, including lead single and US Billboard Hot 100 top three hit “Where the Party At” featuring rapper Nelly. Where the Party At is my featured Throwback Thursday track of the week. The song spent three weeks at number one on the US R&B chart. It was the group’s highest-charting single on the US Billboard Hot 100, spending five weeks at number three in September 15, 2001. The song was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 44th Grammy Awards in 2002, a new category at the time. Check out the video for Where the Party At above.
