After the demise of 2Pac and the Notorious Big, Death Row Records as we knew it was no longer. Death Row Records is still my favorite hip-hop label of all time. I’ve always said that No Limit Records is probably my second-favorite label ever. They have announced a joint tour with Cash Money Records beginning in September. For those of us who grew up in that era, we never thought we’d see this day.
Hip-hop fans who grew up during the golden era of Southern rap have reason to celebrate. Two of the most influential record labels in music history, Cash Money Records and No Limit Records, are reportedly joining forces for a massive tour that promises to bring decades of classic hits, unforgettable memories, and New Orleans pride to stages across America.
A Historic Hip-Hop Reunion
The rivalry between Cash Money and No Limit helped define Southern hip-hop in the late 1990s and early 2000s. While both labels emerged from New Orleans, each carved its own path to success.
Cash Money Records, founded by Birdman and Slim Williams, launched the careers of artists like Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., Turk, and Mannie Fresh. Their unique blend of bounce music and street anthems transformed the label into one of the most successful independent music companies in history.
No Limit Records, founded by Master P, built an empire with artists such as Silkk the Shocker, Mia X, Mystikal, and C-Murder. The label became known for its relentless work ethic, distinctive album covers, and chart-topping releases that helped bring Southern rap into the mainstream.
Now, after decades of influencing hip-hop culture, both legendary camps are preparing to share the same stage. B.G. recently confirmed that a joint Cash Money and No Limit tour is officially happening, calling it “signed, sealed, delivered.”
From Verzuz to the Main Stage
Fans got a preview of what this collaboration could look like during the highly publicized Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz-style showdown at ComplexCon in Las Vegas. The event featured appearances from Birdman, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, B.G., Master P, Mia X, and Silkk the Shocker, showcasing the incredible catalogs both labels built over the years.
The positive reception from fans helped spark conversations about taking the experience on the road. Now, those discussions appear to be becoming a reality.
What Fans Can Expect
While official tour dates and the complete lineup have yet to be announced, fans can expect a celebration of Southern rap history featuring many of the artists who helped shape the genre.
Potential performances could include classics such as:
- “Back That Azz Up”
- “Bling Bling”

- “I’m Bout It, Bout It”
- “Down 4 My N’s”
- “Project Chick”
The tour would likely blend live bands, DJ sets, special guest appearances, and collaborative performances that fans have waited years to see.
Why This Tour Matters
Few labels have had the cultural impact of Cash Money and No Limit. Together, they helped establish the South as a dominant force in hip-hop and opened doors for countless artists who followed.
A joint tour represents more than nostalgia. It serves as a celebration of two movements that changed the music industry, empowered independent artists, and gave New Orleans a permanent place in hip-hop history.
For longtime fans, it will be a chance to relive the soundtrack of their youth. For younger generations, it offers an opportunity to experience the legends who helped build modern rap.
Final Thoughts
Hip-hop has seen its share of reunions, but few can match the significance of Cash Money Records and No Limit Records sharing the spotlight. As more details emerge, anticipation will continue to build for what could become one of the biggest legacy hip-hop tours in recent memory.
If the lineup delivers on its promise, this tour won’t just be a concert—it will be a celebration of an era that forever changed the sound of hip-hop.
