Welcome to the year 2026. I’m hoping you all had a great New Year’s and wishing nothing but blessings in the upcoming year. For years, I’ve always posted my Throwback Thursday tracks on my first site Daddy’s Hangout. I’ve opened this new site to go along with an account on TikTok. Welcome to the sports and music dad site and check me out on TikTok also. There has been a lot going on in the sports world since the beginning of the year. The college football playoffs have reached the Final Four. The Peach Bowl between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Miami Hurricanes is tonight. The other semifinal takes places Friday Night as Indiana battles Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. The winners of those games will meet on Monday, January 19th to crown a new national champion. The regular season of the NFL is finished, and the playoffs begin.
Wild Card Weekend is upon us, and the AFC and NFC are both up for grabs. Speaking of the NFL, Black Monday took place for NFL head coaches. The Atlanta Falcons let go Raheem Morris on Sunday Night. There were other coaches fired on Monday, but the big one took place on Tuesday. After 18 years, the Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh as their head coach. Harbaugh will be in demand for any of the head coaching positions available if he chooses to continue coaching. My playlist to begin the year featured about four mixtapes including the new one from The Game. The Be album from Common, new Ghostface and Get Rich or Die Tryin from 50 Cent was also played. There was one R&B album that was played and this will be my featured one for the week. Blackstreet and their Another Level joint was that album.
Another Level was the second album from Blackstreet. The album is considered a classic by many, and it sold over four million copies. There were three singles released for the album and the first one is my featured track. No Diggity is the track, and it featured Dr. Dre and Queen Pen. No Diggity is my featured Throwback Thursday track. The record won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. No Diggity ranked at number 91 on Rolling Stone and MTV’s “100 Greatest Pop Songs.” No Diggity appeared on several lists as one of the greatest songs in the 90s and of all time. Check out the video for No Diggity above. Below you can check out the track listing and stream link for the Another Level album.
